Trial and License Policy

Trial length

Each plugin is planned to include a 14-day free trial. The trial starts when the user activates the trial entitlement, not merely by reading the website.

No automatic billing

Trials should not automatically convert into paid purchases. A user must intentionally buy a license.

Unactivated reminder mode

After trial expiration, a plugin may continue to pass/process audio while showing persistent activation reminders. This “lock-open” behavior lets users keep testing the sound path while making it clear that activation is still required for licensed use.

Activation

Paid licenses may require online activation and may support a limited number of machines. Offline grace behavior should be designed to avoid interrupting a session if the server is temporarily unavailable.

Canceled or refunded licenses

Refunded, fraudulent, or canceled licenses may be deactivated. The plugin may revert to unactivated reminder mode.

License records

License records should include product, entitlement type, activation status, issue date, expiration date if applicable, and cancellation/refund status.
